Fighting for Immigrant Rights in My Union

As an SEIU and SEIU Texas member I’m using the strength of my union to stand up for communities like mine in Texas and across the country to demand that our elected leaders put families first. I’m proud to work with groups like Mi Familia Vota to help pass important legislation like the DREAM and Promise Act. 

The DREAM and Promise Act would protect nearly 400,000 Texans from deportation and ensure families stay together instead of living in fear that they might lose everything they have built. Our communities want to end the tragedy of family separation now, which is why I’ve made hundreds of calls and sent thousands of text messages to mobilize my community to demand our elected leaders pass the DREAM and Promise Act. It’s time to do what’s right for Texans and protect Dreamers and people with temporary immigration status.
